Kamakura

Less than an hour train ride from Tokyo is a town called Kamakura. It is located on the Sagami Bay and has beautiful ocean views. Plus it is home to dozens of temples and shrines and maybe most notably, their giant Buddha. There is history of humans living here for like 10,000 years, so yeah....it's got a lot of history. It has more history than I could do justice to in a blog post, so I'm doing what I do best....glossing over it and showing you some photos. I was lucky enough to visit in the fall when the leaves were changing. The red and orange leaves of the Japanese maple trees were a perfect compliment to the bright reds and oranges of the tori gates, bridges, and shrines. It was the perfect time to visit.
