Misstakeroom

Well this has to be the worst named restaurant ever. Misstakeroom.

The ONLY reason this restaurant would be a mistake is maybe if you’re lactose intolerant, in which case you should just take a Lactaid pill and proceed to fill up on gooey, molten cheese covered goodness. I found this restaurant in Itaewon, Seoul and knew that as a self proclaimed cheese-aholic, I had to try it. The décor of the restaurant was interesting; no particular theme, but I liked it in it’s weirdness.  Misstakeroom is known for serving a couple of menu items that feature raclette cheese, which is toasted until warm and bubbly then scraped straight off the cheese wheel onto your plate. It’s really hard to go wrong with this concept if you ask me. The only thing I think they could improve upon is the amount of cheese they cover your dish with. In my opinion it is not enough. If you’ve ever seen videos of other raclette restaurants, you’d see that the sheer volume of cheese they use here is below par. But, that being said, typically Asian cuisines are not as cheese heavy as in the US or parts of Europe, so in all honesty, locals may find the amount of cheese obscene—I just don’t know. Since it was the first time I've ever had raclette it was also the best I've ever had, but hopefully not the last!
